Ram Navami (some also call it as Ramnavmi) is celebrated by the Hindus as the birthday of Lord Rama in all parts of the India. According to Hindu calendar, Ramnavami falls on the ninth day of "Shukla Paksha" in the month March – April (Chaitra mahina by Hindi). In North India, Ram Navami is a nine-day festival and is the final day of Chaitra or Vasant Navaratri. The period is also treated as Ramayana week in many parts of India.
