Doljatra, Hindus, Holi 2009, Indian Festival, Indian Republic Day, Phagwa, Varun BlogHoli is festival of colors in India। Holi is mostly celebrated by Hindus but other religions in India also celebrate this festival because Holi is also the symbol for meeting each other and making relationship better. In Bhojpuri Language, it is also known as "Phagwa". Foreigners also come to India during Holi time and they enjoy play with Holi specially in Jaipur, Gujarat. In Indian state West Bengal, Holi is known as Doljatra (Dolyatra). Some also call it as Boshonto Utsav, which means Spring Festival.

Holi Gifts Ideas
As we all know that Holi is the festival to enjoy & strengthening the relationship with your loved ones & friendship. It is a tradition and practised that (not all parts in India) that in the Holi, people use to exchange gifts. Generally, most of the people exchange sweets as they start the day with the sweets. Most of them make sweets at their home. North Indian people use to gift Garments for Married Daughters and to their husband family.

When is Holi?
Holi will be celebrated on 1st of March (Monday), 2010 in India but some parts of the India like West Bengal will celebrate one day before 1st of March 2010. Then in 2011, Holi will be celebrated in March 2010. But last year, it was celebrated little late than this year. Lat year, it was celebrated on 22nd March (Saturday), 2009.

Here are some Holi Messages and Holi SMS (Hindi SMS) , by which you can send to your loved ones through email or mobile. If you are in India then you can free sms to your loved ones. I can some sites and those free sms sites are Indyarocks dot com, 160by2 dot com and many more. I use the first one to send free SMS.

Wish u all the colors of life, colors of joy & colors of happiness। Happy Holi.
