Author of 'Where Wild Things Are' Maurice Sendak dies

Maurice Sendak, the famous children's book author & illustrator who had sen the sometimes-dark side of childhood in his books like "Where the Wild Things Are" & "In the Night Kitchen," died early morning Tuesday. He was 83 years old.


Longtime close friend and caretaker Lynn Caponera told she was with Maurice Sendak when he died at a hospital in Danbury, Conn. Lynn Caponera said he had a stroke on Friday.
