21 December 2012 Mayan Calendar

The Long running Calendar of the Ancient Mayans is going to end on Dec 21 2012. There is no good amount of information about what the Mayans thought would occur in 2012, but it the consensus of opinion seems that there will be great change not only in a particular place but all over the world (on the Earth). But some people believes that this means a positive and spiritual change. Others considering that a catastrophic event may have been predicted.

Nobody predict what will happen in coming 2012...
Good thing is that there is zero scientific evidence that anything is going to be happened, but still there are many such things that could be easily threatened to the human species in December 2012, such as a collision of two planet geomagnetic movement, earth quake or any supernova. Or it may be something more intimate, just like a flu pandemic, or a nuclear war among the different countries.

What does Varun (I) think?
-Although I wouldd prefer new age enlightenment, I can't help it but feeling something terrible may occur, and that ancient civilizations have left us coded. I am getting the feeling the whole earth will be filled with waters, only few thousands of people will survive who will bring the new civilization, then there will be no country, no religion, no terrorism, no politics, no racism. Everything will be really simple and beautiful because Earth will come in a new shape and everything will be fresh. May be some new animals, plants will come. Recently, Hydro chloride has been tested that can also be the reason, the earth can enter inti the Black Hole, and as we all know nothing comes from Black hole.

Insurance policy
I really have no idea if something bad will happenor not in 2012. Nobody really knows really, people can just predict. Most home owners using fire insurance, even though they don't expect their house to ever burn. They use it because losing their home and contents would be devestating, and using insurance is quite cheap.

What Survive 2012?
Survive 2012 is a non-fiction book I am working on. Progress is currently slow as need to work hard in the corporate world to build the necessary funds. My thoughts & plans are constantly evolving in line with my continual research. Survive 2012 is also the name of this website which is an online version of the completed chapters, some half-finished chapters and some other bits and pieces.

The Maya civilisation inhabited a region encompassing southern Mexico, Guatemala and Belize and flourished between the third and tenth centuries AD, but by 1200 AD their society had collapsed for reasons we can only guess at. When the Spanish conquistadors arrived, descendants still occupied the area, and still spoke the Mayan language, but were unaware of the cities their forefathers had created.

It wasn't until the late 18th century that explorers first investigated the dense Guatemalan rainforest and came across plazas, monoliths, temples and pyramids, each decorated with pictures and hieroglyphs. The ancient Maya had been keeping historical records - using a script which mixed ideographic and phonetic elements. Some of their writing still exists on stelae (stone monuments) that recount civil events and record their calendric and astronomical knowledge.
